Dragon boating originated as a Chinese Folk Ritual (Duanwu Jie) some 2000 years ago. Today, dragon boating is an exhilarating water sport thoroughly enjoyed by many. Dragon boating comprises of up to 20 paddlers, a drummer at the bow and steersman at the rear. It is highly valued as a team-building sport - solid teamwork, huge amount of sacrifice and great communication between team members for the oars to paddle in perfect unison, achieving optimum speed. A dragon boat team is synonymous with a well-run organisation that demands similar attributes to excel.
